OVER 250 Stoke City fans packed into the Kypersley Sports and Social Club on Tuesday evening . . . as the Biddulph based venue hosted the latest 'Meet The Club Night'.
Chief Executive Tony Scholes was joined by Technical Director Mark Cartwright, midfielder Michael Kightly and skipper Ryan Shawcross at the event, as the four-man panel spent close to an hour answering questions
submitted by members of the Knypersley & Biddulph Supporters Club.
As well as the popular question and answer session, Shawcross and Kightly, for whom the Supporters Club are shirt sponsors of, spent time posing for photographs and signing autographs for the youngsters amongst
The evening was hosted by the Club's matchday PA announcer Steve Buxton, and proved to be a hugely successful occasion.
England international defender Shawcross spoke of the importance of mixing with supporters of the Football Club.
"It's great to be here, seeing and speaking to the fans who turn up each and every week and cheer us on," he told Stoke City Player.
"It's important for us as a Club to attend these sort of events and give something back to the people who pay large sums of money every year to give us their fantastic support."
Lifelong season ticket holder Paul Graham, from Biddulph, added; "It's fantastic to see the guys out here tonight, speaking to us all.
"All four of the guys answered the questions superbly well, and never shied away from anything that was asked of them.
"It's important for the Club to venture away from the immediate areas surrounding the stadium, and the fact that we had four key members of the Club here tonight, shows their dedication to the local community."
The evening was rounded off by a raffle, as well as two auctions, which featured signed home and away shirts, with the proceeds from both going towards the Community Trust.
