Adam's Aim

CHARLIE ADAM believes the Potters are on course for a first ever top-ten finish in the Barclays Premier League . . . as they prepare for back-to-back home games against Fulham and Newcastle United over the next seven days.

The Scotland international scored the only goal of the game as the side recorded their second victory of the campaign against Queens Park Rangers last weekend, whilst he again impressed for the side in Monday night's live televised draw with West Ham in London.

Tony Pulis' side currently sit 14th in the league table having registered 13 points from their opening twelve games, however, Adam reckons that the points will soon start to flow on a more frequent basis as long as the players maintain their recent levels of performance.

"I thought we were absolutely fantastic during the first half of the game at West Ham," he said following the encounter. "It was arguably the best we have performed all season.

"We maybe should have scored another goal or two and put ourselves into a position where we almost certainly would have gone on to win the game, but we weren't able to do that and West Ham came back into it.

"When you have players like Kevin Nolan and Andy Carroll in the side then they are always going to be a danger and they pushed us back during the second half. I think we deserved the point we got though. We

had the first half, they had the second."

He added: "We need to take the performance from the first half into this weekend's game with us. We aren't too far off picking up a string of good results, and I am certain that if we keep doing what we have been then we will be where we want to be come the end of the season."

There are a very limited number of tickets still available for Saturday's game against the Cottagers in areas situated all around the stadium.

To secure your seat you can either purchase your ticket in person from the Britannia Stadium Ticket Office, buy it online at SCFCDIRECT.COM or you can call us on 01782 367599.
