STOKE City Ladies Reserves can take a big step towards the FA Women’s Premier League Reserve Midland Division title this weekend.

The reserves are on a run of six straight league wins and host Coventry United at Community Drive on Sunday (2.00pm kick off).

The Potters convincingly beat title challengers Leicester City 3-0 last time out and currently sit four points clear of Cardiff City at the top of the table.

But with just two games left, the Ladies must aim for maximum points to enhance their chances of lifting silverware, with Leicester eying up a sprint towards the finishing line- they are seven points behind the Potters but have three games in hand.

City’s success has been built on a perfect blend of defence and attack. The last five matches have seen the side record successive clean sheets whilst scoring 15 goals in the process.

A morale boosting 4-2 friendly win over Mossley Hill last weekend saw Emily Curteis score her seventh goal in six outings and another victory against Coventry could set up a title party against Cardiff on 7th May.

The Bluebirds themselves are still in contention for the top spot but a Potters win on Sunday would rule them out of the equation, leaving it as a straight shootout between City and Leicester.

Entry to Sunday’s match is free of charge at Community Drive, ST6 1RU.
