Fundraisers invited to take part in cycley challenge...

CYCLING enthusiasts and charity fundraisers are invited to raise money for a wide range of local causes on April 1st.

Stoke City’s Community Trust - alongside community trust partner KMF Ltd – will cycle from the Potters’ bet365 Stadium to Leicester City’s King Power Stadium ahead of the Premier League encounter between both sides.

The Community Trust are hoping to attract 75 riders, who must each raise at least £150 each in sponsorship to ride the 68-mile trip, with participants getting a match ticket to the clash with the current Premier League Champions as well as a lift home.

Community Trust Fundraising Officer Steve Hunt said: “The money that is raised is distributed to various causes who have applied to us for grants.

“We have done these cycle rides in the past and, hopefully, we can get about 75 taking part – but it is a case of the more the merrier.

“Everyone taking part will get a ticket to the game and we have a number of vans to get their bikes back to the Potteries."

Riders will assemble at the bet365 Stadium at 7am before hitting the road 45 minutes later.

There will be breaks and a lunch stop along the way before participants reach Leicester, where they can sit back and see City take on the Foxes from the away end.

All those taking part on April 1 will receive energy drinks, lunch, a branded shirt and special finishers' medal.

Anyone interested in taking part should call Steve Hunt on 01782 592130 or email steve.hunt@stokecityfc.com
