Ladies Set For Final Fixture

Side prepare for away trip...

STOKE City Ladies wrap up their season with a trip to league champions Blackburn Rovers this Sunday.

The hosts remain unbeaten in their 19 league matches and will be keen to keep that record intact at Ewood Park but the Potters will offer a stern test to Rovers.

City are currently on a run of just one defeat in their last 11 games, impressively winning 2-1 at last season’s title winners West Bromwich Albion last time out.

It’s been quite a while since the two sides last met - Blackburn winning 2-0 at Community Drive on the opening day - and whilst both teams have had differing campaigns Stoke’s recent form gives them the opportunity to finish in their highest ever league position.

Victory for Steve Swanwick’s side would cement a successive fourth placed finish but could also lift them to third above Leicester should results go in their favour.

With 80 goals scored through the campaign, there’s no doubt that it’s been entertaining to watch City in their first season at Community Drive. Leading the way has been Ashleigh Hayes and she’ll be keen to add to her tally of 23 this weekend, but it’s been a real squad effort - those goals have been shared amongst an impressive tally of 19 different players.

Kick-off on Sunday is at 2.00pm with live updates available on Twitter @scfc_ladies.
