A NUMBER of Stoke City’s young stars are preparing for international action after being called up for fixtures over the next fortnight.
Curtis Strong has been named in the Wales Under-19 squad which travels to Kiel on Monday for a friendly against Germany at the Holstein Stadium.
Team-mate Nathan Ricketts-Hopkinson is on standby for the Welsh Under-17 squad, who face Liechtenstein at Richmond Park on Wednesday, September 19th.
Development Squad goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann will represent Austria Under-19s when they welcome Czech Republic in the middle of the month, while Ryan O’Reilly is on standby for Ireland’s Under-19s for their friendly against Latvia.
Kris Scott has a testing schedule with the USA’s Under-18s as they travel for a tour of the Netherlands, with the main fixture being a clash against their Dutch counterparts on Tuesday, September 11th.
Stoke City’s Under-18s are next in action on that Tuesday, welcoming Manchester United to Clayton Wood in a rearranged fixture (7.00pm).
The Under-21s’ next League game is at Tottenham Hotspur on Monday September 17th (12.30pm), although a number of the squad are expected to feature in the Central League Cup match against Fleetwood Town on Wednesday (2.00pm).
