MARK HUGHES made one change to his starting eleven for Saturday’s opening home game of the 2013/14 season against newly promoted Crystal Palace.
Charlie Adam, who was named amongst the substitutes last weekend at Anfield, came into the side at the expense of Glenn Whelan, who dropped down to the bench.
The rest of the side was as you were against Liverpool with the impressive Asmir Begovic ushering a back four that comprised of Geoff Cameron, skipper Ryan Shawcross, Robert Huth and home debutant Erik Pieters.
The central midfield trio featured Marc Wilson in a more defensive role, just behind the returning Adam and Steven Nzonzi.
Republic of Ireland star Jonathan Walters continued on the right hand side of a front three, whilst Matthew Etherington occupied a similar spot on the left.
England international striker Peter Crouch continued in the middle, with the likes of Kenwyne Jones, Jermaine Pennant and Cameron Jerome having to be content with a spot on the bench.
