STOKE CITY youngster James Alabi has joined League Two promotion-chasers Scunthorpe United on a month’s loan.
It’s the second time the 19-year-old has linked-up with the Iron on loan, having scored once in nine appearances for them last season.
The powerful front-man has also enjoyed loan spells with both Mansfield Town and Forest Green Rovers this season.
Academy Director Dave Wright told stokecityfc.com: "James has gone for an initial month, possibly with a view to extending that until the end of the season.
"We are delighted to see James go back out on loan to continue his development, and hopefully help them gain promotion back up to League One.
"I think Scunthorpe have kept an eye on James following his first spell there and they have seen him continue his progression.
"We are happy to let him go even though the Under 21s have some important games coming up. They will miss him but we won't keep James back just for that reason. This move is the right thing for him at this stage of his career."
Scunthorpe are currently second in the League Two table, one point behind leaders Chesterfield.
Alabi could make his debut for the Iron this evening as they play host to Southend United at Glanford Park.
