Moroccan winger visits local children as Community Trust strengthen ties

OUSSAMA ASSAIDI visited local children in nearby Cheddleton yesterday to give his approval to the John Pointon Sports & Recreation Centre.

City's Moroccan winger joined Community Trust coaches at the venue as the Club look to strengthen ties in the area with a sporting activity partnership.

Assaidi met youngsters from Leek First School who were undertaking a football session with coaches before undertaking a Q&A and posing for photographs.

A future partnership could see the Community Trust hold events such as advanced training centres and soccer schools in the area and the Club's Head of Community Adrian Hurst believes it is important to support local facilities in this way.

"I'd like to thank Oussama for visiting the centre and meeting the school children," he said.

"His appearance highlights our thoughts of this excellent facility and our hopes to being a partnership and affiliation with them."

The centre itself was funded by the nearby waste management company John Pointon and Sons Ltd in memory of its founder and has a number of facilities including an FA-standard grass pitch and 2 3G all-weather pitches.
