City stopper takes to social media following Bosnia triumph

ASMIR BEGOVIC took to Twitter to celebrate reaching the World Cup finals in Brazil with Bosnia and Herzegovina.

They booked their first ever appearance at the finals as an independent nation with a 1-0 win over Lithuania in Vilnius last night.

Stoke City goalkeeper Begovic was an ever-present throughout their qualifying campaign and is sure to be a key figure in Brazil next summer.

He couldn’t contain his excitement after the game in Lithuania and Tweeted: "Brazil here we come!!! Wooaaaaa... dreams do come true!!"

Begovic’s wife Nicole will be discussing Bosnia’s success in qualifying for the finals in her column in the matchday magazine for Saturday’s Premier League game against West Bromwich Albion at the Britannia Stadium.

The 100-page publication will be available from all the usual outlets, priced £3.50.

Meanwhile, fellow Potter Wilson Palacios will be joining the stopper in South America, after he and his Honduran compatriots secured themselves an automatic qualification spot having finished third in the final CONCACAF qualifying group.

They join the United States and Costa Rica at the show-piece tournament, meaning fourth placed Mexico will have to go through a play-off decider with Oceania winners New Zealand.
