Club urge fans to take part in Santa's Red & White Santa Dash

STOKE CITY are hoping a ‘red and white army’ will help them provide some festive cheer for young patients who will be spending time in hospital.

The Club are looking for a big turnout when they hold their annual Santa’s Red & White Dash at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday 22nd December.

What promises to be a fun-packed occasion for all the family in the countdown to the festive season has an important objective in raising valuable funds for the Cheetham’s Children’s Centre at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire.

‘Santas’ are being encouraged to sign up for the event when they will be asked to complete at least four laps of the perimeter track around the pitch with the aim of making a difference to the lives of young children while they are in hospital.

City’s Bosnian international goalkeeper Asmir Begovic recently gave his backing to the launch of Santa’s Red & White Dash for 2012 and he urged local people to give up a little bit of time to help such a worthy cause at this time of the year.

“It’s a chance for people to have a little bit of festive fun while helping to raise some valuable funds for the children’s centre,” said Begovic.

“Christmas is a time for giving and a time for the family, so we hope people will enter into the spirit of the occasion by supporting this event.”
