CORONATION Street star Alan Halsall will swop the cobbles of Weatherfield for the immaculate playing surface at the Britannia Stadium next month.
Alan, who has played Tyrone Dobbs in the long-running ITV soap since 1998, has confirmed he will be lining-up for a Celebrity XI against a Stoke City Legends line-up in a charity match at the Britannia Stadium Big Event on Sunday 2nd June.
He’s likely to be joined by at least another couple of Corrie stars for the big game, in which Mark Stein will be just one of the ex-Potters heroes in action.
There’s so much more to the Big Event than just the big match as the seven-hour extravaganza will also feature live music from a headline act that is yet to be announced. There will also be a fun fair and a dance competition (with a first prize of £250), while food and drink will be available.
There will also be bucket collections and fund-raising initiatives for the Stoke City Community Trust and University Hospital of North Staffordshire.
11.00am – Funfair opens (North Car Park)
12.00pm – Turnstiles open
12.00pm to 2.00pm – Live music from local bands
2.00pm to 3.00pm – Dance competition, featuring 18 dance groups
3.00pm to 4.45pm – Stoke City Legends v Celebrity XI match
