Steven Nzonzi joins students for French lesson at Co-operative Academy

STEVEN NZONZI surprised a large number of students at the Co-operative Academy in Tunstall earlier this week to help inspire them during a French lesson.

The Potters midfielder, who netted his second goal of the season against Aston Villa on Sunday, spent 90 minutes with the budding linguists on Tuesday afternoon to help the youngsters celebrate International Language Day.

The French-born star took part in a question and answer session during the French lesson and also spent time mixing with the students, as well as posing for photographs and signing autographs.

“I think it is important to learn modern foreign languages at school, especially as early as possible,” the 25-year-old told stokecityfc.com.

“I learnt English and Spanish when I was at school in France – I was much better at Spanish back then.

“I have had a good time here this afternoon with the school children, and they have welcomed me into their lesson.”

He added: “They asked a mixture of serious and not so serious questions, but it all helps with their learning and understanding and hopefully their enjoyment of the French language.”
