Winger Shea joins Championship outfit on emergency 28-day loan

STOKE CITY winger Brek Shea has joined Championship outfit Barnsley on an emergency loan.

The US international, who has found first team opportunities hard to come by since swopping the MLS for the Britannia Stadium last January, has completed the formalities of his switch today and will spend 28 days with the South Yorkshire club.

He is the second Potters player to have a loan spell with Barnsley this term; goalkeeper Jack Butland made 13 appearances for the Tykes before being recalled by Mark Hughes on Boxing Day following the injury to Asmir Begovic.
