Butland named in the latest England U-21 squad

JACK BUTLAND has been named in Stuart Pearce's England Under-21 squad for their forthcoming international double-header against Romania and Austria.

The highly-rated 20-year-old, who joined the Potters from Birmingham in January, is expected to start for the Three Lions in the two friendly encounters, as Pearce takes one final look at his players before naming his 23-man squad for this summer's European Championships in Israel.

Butland was expected to be named in the full England squad for their games against Montenegro and San Marino, however, boss Roy Hodgson has recalled Ben Foster back into his squad, after he ended his self-imposed exile from international football.

The Under-21 side take on Romania on Friday 22nd March, at Wycombe's Adam's Park, before hosting Austria at the impressive Amex Stadium (Brighton) on Monday 25th March.

The full squad is as follows:

Jack Butland, Ben Amos, Declan Rudd, Jason Steele; Ryan Bennett, Steven Caulker, Nathaniel Clyne, Craig Dawson, Tom Lees, Jack Robinson, Danny Rose, Luke Shaw, Adam Smith, Andre Wisdom; Tom Carroll, Nat Chalobah, Jordan Henderson, Henri Lansbury, Jason Lowe, Josh McEachran, Jonjo Shelvey, Raheem Sterling, Andros Townsend; Nathan Delfouneso, Tom Ince, Marvin Sordell, Connor Wickham, Wilfried Zaha.
