City star joins youngsters to support Premier League 4 Sport initiative

STOKE CITY star Geoff Cameron helped launch the Club’s participation in the Premier League 4 Sport initiative at the Fenton Manor Sports Centre earlier this week.

The United States of America star joined pupils from a large number of local schools and colleges at the complex to help showcase a number of new sports that are being included in the innovative project this year.

Delivered by the Premier League, SportEngland and the Youth Sport Trust, the Potters are once again acting as one of the major hubs to help children in the local vicinity to participate in sports, and Cameron was delighted to have been involved.

“It gives youngsters the chance to try out other sports that they would not necessarily try if it was not for the partnership with the football club,” the 28-year-old told

“It is fantastic to see all the participants here trying out the different sports, and having such a wonderful time.

“I think it is awesome to see the funding of the Premier League, combined with the delivery of the project by Stoke City, being taken up by so many young people across the city.

“Hopefully they will firstly enjoy the experience but also if there is a talent there, that can be nurtured and developed in the future, and who knows we could be looking at a future champion!”

The two new sports that were being showcased on the day were tennis and netball, whilst ladies sports in general, particularly football, were also being promoted to the attendees.

Cameron spent almost two hours participating in each of the three sports with the children, before spending time posing for photographs and signing autographs.

In total 26 satellite clubs are being delivered across 7 sports. For your nearest PL4Sport club please contact
