THREE STOKE CITY STARS will be putting their culinary skills to the test later this year as the Britannia Stadium plays host to the eagerly-anticipated 'Stoke Kitchen' event, sponsored by Wrights, on Thursday 9th October 2014.
Television star Gino D'Acampo will be in attendance for a third successive year, whilst he will also be joined by fellow celebrity chefs Ed Baines (ITV's Sunday Feast) and Lesley Waters (Ready Steady Cook and This Morning).
For the first time ever, all three chefs will team up with a member of Mark Hughes’ first team squad and work together in a bid to reign supreme in the kitchen and be crowned as 'Potters Masterchef 2014'.
The Tony Waddington Suite will once again undertake a major renovation and be transformed into a superbly-equipped kitchen for the big event, which has proved enormously popular in in recent years.
Rory Delap, Matthew Upson, Michael Owen and Thomas Sorensen have scooped the top prize in the previous cook-offs and City will announce at a later date which players will be joining Gino, Ed and Lesley in the kitchen this time around.
Gino made his first appearance at the Britannia Stadium two years ago and proved to be an enormous hit, with both the audience and participating players alike.
The Italian shot to prominence in 2009 when he won ITV's 'I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!' and has gone on to host his own series - 'There's No Taste Like Home' - and five series of the popular 'Let's Do Lunch… with Gino and Mel', which also features Melanie Sykes.
Last autumn, his maiden primetime series 'Gino's Italian Escape' was a huge success and a second series will be on our screens later this year.
Another hugely respected chef, Ed Baines has appeared on a number of television shows over the past decade, including ITV's 'Sunday Feast' and 'Chefs at Sea', as well as presenting his own television series, 'Lunch with Ed Baines'.
Lesley Waters, who is currently one of the featured chefs on 'This Morning', rose to prominence during a lengthy spell on 'Ready Steady Cook', before moving on to launch her own cookery school in Dorset.
