SUMMER acquisitions Mame Biram Diouf, Steve Sidwell, Phil Bardsley and Dionotan Teixeira were all present as the Potters returned for pre-season training on Wednesday.
Mark Hughes’ squad returned from their summer breaks and were immediately put through their paces at the state of the art St George’s Park training centre in Burton-Upon-Trent.
The Club’s medical and fitness staff oversaw the initial tests inside the building, before the players took to the pitches outside to undertake running examinations, in front of the watching Hughes, assistant manager Mark Bowen and first team coach Eddie Niedzwiecki.
The players were split into four groups, with all of the players in attendance with exception of Asmir Begovic, Geoff Cameron, Peter Odemwingie and Wilson Palacios – all of whom were in action at this summer’s World Cup Finals in Brazil.
They spent around two hours at the home of English football, before departing for home ahead of their first training session at Clayton Wood on Thursday morning.
