Stoke stars set to represent their countries

SEVERAL Stoke City first team stars have been called up to represent their countries in the upcoming international break.

Mame Diouf has been selected in the Senegal squad for their Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with Egypt and Botswana.

Diouf and the Lions of Teranga take on Egypt in their capital Dakar before heading off to Botswana in a double header of Group G matches.

Goalkeeper Asmir Begovic has also been called up for two matches and he will play for Bosnia & Herzegovina in their friendly against Liechtenstein and their Euro 2016 Group B qualifier with Cyprus, both at home.

Marko Arnautovic is named amongst the Austria squad for their Group G qualifier at home to Sweden as well, whilst Geoff Cameron (injury permitting) and Brek Shea are in the United States' squad for a friendly with the Czech Republic.

These call-ups come after news of Erik Pieters' return to the international set-up with the Netherlands (provisional squad) as well as City's Irish trio being named in the Republic's provisional squad.

At Under-21 level, Jack Butland is included in England's squad for European Championship qualifiers away to Lithuania and Moldova, whilst Dionatan Teixeira is set to represent Slovakia for qualifiers against Scotland (home) and the Netherlands (away). Marc Muniesa is also in the Spain squad for qualifiers away at Hungary and at home to Austria.
