Top scorer hoping for big backing at Anfield

TOP SCORER Peter Crouch is urging supporters to turn out in force at Anfield this weekend . . . and help roar the side on to a second successive Premier League victory.

The England international, who has scored five in as many games for the Potters, is relishing the challenge of taking on his former side, after they re-ignited their campaign at the weekend with a 5-2 demolition of Norwich.

Although Crouch knows all about the threat that Liverpool pose at home, having spent three years there himself earlier in his career, he remains confident that City can further their promising start to the campaign with a positive result on Sunday.

“I will look forward to going back to Liverpool, I always do,” he smiled. “I had some great times there and it’s a Club that I will always have a fondness for.

“Like ourselves, they will probably feel their points tally doesn’t reflect their performances so far this season, so we know it will be a tough game for us.

“Any game in this League is tough, and we have already done well against Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea, so we can go there with no fear and give it a go.”

He added: “Obviously we will need our supporters right behind us because they do make a difference for us. Liverpool will be buoyed by their first win of the campaign so they will be up for it, but I know we will be too.”

Tickets for the game at Anfield are now on general sale to supporters, with prices starting from £39 for adults & £12 for under 17s.

Supporters wishing to purchase tickets for the clash can do so online via scfcdirect.com, in person by visiting the Britannia Stadium Ticket Office or over the phone by calling (01782) 367599.

* Meanwhile, tickets for the home games against Liverpool, Southampton and Chelsea later this season, due to go on sale to Silvers members this week, will no longer do so pending an upcoming announcement on Half-Season Tickets. New sale dates will be confirmed shortly.
