STOKE CITY defender Danny Higginbotham has joined npower Championship side Ipswich Town on an emergency one-month loan deal.
The 33-year-old defender agreed the move in time to be included in Paul Jewell’s matchday squad for Saturday’s clash against Charlton Athletic at Portman Road.
The Tractor Boys have made a disappointing start to their league campaign, languishing in the relegation zone having won just one of their opening six games.
However, they will be looking to re-ignite their season with the help of the experienced defender, whose first team opportunities have been limited at the Britannia Stadium.
The former Manchester United ace made just 11 appearances last season, with six of those coming during a similar loan spell with Nottingham Forest.
Should Higginbotham feature against the Addicks this weekend then he could come up against former City team-mate Ricardo Fuller, after he left the Britannia Stadium to join the Londoners during the summer.
