STEPHEN IRELAND was handed his first Barclays Premier League start for the Club at Craven Cottage on Saturday, as boss Mark Hughes made two changes to his starting line-up.
The on-loan Aston Villa man was included in the side having impressed from the bench in recent weeks, whilst fit-again Matthew Etherington returned to the team following injury.
The pair were included at the expense of Kenwyne Jones and Charlie Adam, both of whom had to settle for spots amongst the substitutes.
Fulham meanwhile, made four changes to their side, after slipping to a disappointing 2-1 home defeat against top-flight new boys Cardiff City seven days earlier.
Phillipe Senderos, Damian Duff, Giorgos Karagounis and Bryan Ruiz were all named in the side having been left out last weekend.
Stoke City: Begovic; Cameron, Shawcross (c), Huth, Pieters; Walters, Nzonzi, Wilson, Ireland, Etherington; Arnautovic. Subs: Sorensen, Whelan, Adam, Palacios, Assaidi, Crouch, Jones.
