STOKE CITY are offering young female footballers the opportunity to earn themselves a place in their Girls Development Squad during the current season.
Girls between the ages of 8 and 16 years old can take part in a trial this month and if they are successful, they will then attend weekly coaching sessions.
It presents an excellent opportunity for the young players who are selected in the Squad to develop their talent in 60-minute coaching sessions with specialist coaching staff from the Girls Centre of Excellence and Stoke City Community Trust.
As well as the regular coaching, all players who gain a place will be monitored and their individual needs assessed to boost their development.
A technical programme offered to them as part of that coaching will mirror the Girls Centre of Excellence programme with technical and game sessions which provide practice, game scenarios and challenges to help them fulfil their potential.
The only criteria for players who are looking to join the Development Squad is that they are playing for a local grassroots football club.
Players can continue to play and train with their current teams, so they will simply receive an additional training session each week.
The trial and the subsequent training session take place at Chesterton High School on a Wednesday evening from 5.00pm to 6.00pm.
These start on Wednesday 23rd January with the price of each session £3.50, although the first session on the above date will be free of charge.
