Hughes looking forward to Emirates test

MARK HUGHES insists his Stoke City players will adopt a no-fear attitude when they face Arsenal on Sunday.

Five previous visits to the Emirates Stadium have failed to yield even a single point for the Potters but Hughes’ men will head to North London in confident mood after a highly encouraging start to the season.

City have taken seven points from a possible 12 - and dominated against Manchester City in last Saturday’s goalless draw at the Britannia Stadium – and the manager is relishing the challenge Arsenal are sure to present.

He told stokecityfc.com: “It’s not going to be easy for us and like many other teams our record at the Emirates isn’t great but there is always a time to change that and why not this weekend?

“We’re playing well and if we need anything going into this game its confidence in what we’re producing. Our performance levels have to be high and that’s the case at the moment.

“Arsenal are playing well but so are we. I don’t think we have any apprehension about going there – we’re looking forward to it.

“You don’t want to be going into a game at the Emirates when confidence is at a low ebb and your play isn’t good.

“That’s not the case with us because we’re playing well. The only thing we’re lacking is converting our chances and if we can address that this weekend we’ll cause them a real problem.”
