CURRY AND BEVANS were the big winners at the Stoke City Golf Day which was held at Trentham Park Golf Club.
The locally-based electrical and mechanical engineers not only carried off the team prize but also scooped the award for the longest drive and claimed third spot in the individual competition.
Their team of Lewis Twigge, Alan Finney, Derek Fogg and Steve Ellis won the team competition. All four men were presented with individual trophies, along with a golf bag each and the use of an executive suite for the Potters’ first home game of the Premier League season against Crystal Palace on 24th August.
Ellis also won a golf shoe bag after posting the longest drive of the day, while Fogg secured a round of golf for four people at Trentham Park after coming third in the individual competition.
Runners-up in the team competition were Listers Trade Frames, with Travis Perkins finishing third.
The individual competition was won by Carlsberg’s Adrian Turton, who not only collected a trophy but also two places in the 1863 Lounge for the game against Palace. Bob Deakin from Listers was runner-up.
Paul Deakin, who was also representing Carlsberg, took home a football signed by the first team squad and a set of golf balls after winning the nearest the pin competition.
