STOKE CITY’S globetrotting international stars still have a busy time ahead of them . . . even though many of their team-mates are now well into their summer break.
The Republic of Ireland squad featuring the three Ws – Glenn Whelan, Jonathan Walters and Marc Wilson – finish their end-of-season programme over the next seven days.
Following their encouraging results against England and Georgia, Giovanni Trapattoni’s side face a must-win World Cup qualifier against the Faroe Islands on Friday evening, before they round off their fixtures by taking on Spain in the Yankee Stadium in New York.
The busiest of City’s internationals are undoubtedly their three Americans – Geoff Cameron, Brek Shea and Maurice Edu - who still have three important World Cup qualifiers to play over the next two weeks in their bid to reach next summer’s Finals in Brazil.
Fresh from their excellent victory over Germany, they have travel to Jamaica for Friday’s game before home fixtures against Panama (June 11th) and Honduras (June 18th).
While Jack Butland is on England Under-21 duty, fellow goalkeeper Asmir Begovic is on his travels with Bosnia and Herzegovina as they head for Latvia to play a World Cup qualifier on Friday evening and then fly on to Oman where they have a friendly in the Sultan Qaboos Complex 72 hours later.
Kenwyne Jones (Trinidad and Tobago) and Wilson Palacios (Honduras) are also with their respective squads for forthcoming internationals.

*USA, Trinidad and Tobago and Honduras will all be competing in the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup when it is hosted by the United States (July 7th to 28th).
