City stars set for World Cup Qualifiers this week

STOKE CITY will be represented by ten players around the globe over the course of the next seven days . . . as the international football calendar prepares to take centre stage.

Six of those will be away representing just two nations – the United States of America and the Republic of Ireland.

Geoff Cameron, Brek Shea and Maurice Edu, who is currently on-loan at Turkish club Bursaspor, have been called up by United States boss Jurgen Klinsman for their vital World Cup Qualifiers against
Costa Rica (22nd March) and North American rivals Mexico (26th March).

Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni has also called up a trio of Potters players in Glenn Whelan, Jonathan Walters and Marc Wilson for their tricky looking Qualifiers against Sweden in Stockholm
(22nd March) and Austria in Dublin (26th March).

Midfielder Charlie Adam has also been called up to represent Scotland for their latest Group A matches against Wales (22nd March) and Serbia (26th March), where six-points is a must if they are to
keep alive any realistic hopes of featuring in the showpiece Finals in Brazil next summer.

Potters number one Asmir Begovic will be hoping for further international honours when he and his Bosnian compatriots host Greece in their latest Group G encounter on Friday night (22nd March).

Meanwhile, transfer deadline day acquisition Jack Butland, currently on-loan at Birmingham City, is expected to start for the England Under-21s in their pre-European Championship encounters against
Romania and Austria.

Elsewhere, Kenwyne Jones will be hoping to represent his native, Trinidad and Tobago, in their back-to-back international friendly matches versus Belize and Peru.
