STOKE CITY striker Kenwyne Jones will link up with the rest of the first team squad out in Houston on Monday . . . after Trinidad and Tobago were eliminated from the CONCACAF Gold Cup in dramatic fashion in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The powerful forward skippered his country in their Quarter-Final clash with Mexico in Atlanta, Georgia, however, they were agonisingly denied a place in the last four by the favourites, who secured a late victory courtesy of Raul Jimenez.
It means new manager Mark Hughes will be able to take a close up look at the former Sunderland ace for the first time, having missed pre-season training thus far due to his international commitments.
Brek Shea meanwhile, remains in action for the United States as they look to progress through to the Semi-Finals when they take on El Salvador in Baltimore, Maryland later on Sunday.
Should the US suffer what would be a shock defeat against the South American minnows then he too would link up with the Potters in Texas prior to Wednesday evening’s friendly clash against Houston Dynamo.
Mark Hughes has confirmed his travelling party for the nine-day training camp in the US:
Asmir Begovic, Thomas Sorensen, Jack Butland.
Andy Wilkinson, Ryan Shotton, Ryan Shawcross, Robert Huth, Geoff Cameron, Marc Wilson, Marc Muniesa, Jordan Keane, Erik Pieters.
Michael Kightly, Florent Cuvelier, Charlie Adam, Wilson Palacios, Steven Nzonzi, Maurice Edu, Glenn Whelan, Jamie Ness, Matthew Etherington, Brek Shea*.
Peter Crouch, Cameron Jerome, Jonathan Walters, Kenwyne Jones.
*Shea will join up with the team once international duty (Gold Cup) in completed.
