STOKE CITY youngster Jordan Keane helped Tamworth reach the first round proper of the FA Cup at the weekend, having starred for the Lambs on his debut.
The Republic of Ireland Under 21 international joined the non-league side on an initial one-month loan at the weekend, before being thrust straight into competitive action in their crucial encounter against Solihull Moors.
The hosts recorded a comfortable 4-1 victory to see off their local rivals in an entertaining affair that was played out in front of over 1,000 spectators.
Keane, who has captained the Potters’ Elite Development squad this season, put in an admirable showing in the heart of defence as the Lambs secured themselves a potentially glamorous FA Cup encounter against league opposition.
The defender is expected to retain his place in the starting eleven for this weekend’s Football Conference Premier Division clash at home to Braintree Town.
Meanwhile, fellow Under 21 starlet James Alabi has agreed a one-month loan move to League Two side Mansfield Town.
The Potters gave the green light for the striker to link up with the Stags on Monday, for whom he is expected to feature for in Friday night’s trip to Southend United.
The powerful 18-year-old has yet to make an appearance for Stoke, but did net his maiden professional goal during a successful loan spell with Scunthorpe United last season.
