First team meet the reserves in Tuesday’s County Cup Final

STOKE CITY supporters are being encouraged to lend their support to the impressive ladies teams this week the first team play the reserves in the Staffordshire County Cup Final.

The two sides meet in the showpiece occasion for the second time in three years with the first team looking to claim the opening trophy of what could be a unique treble for them this season.

Tomorrow night's game, taking place at Norton United's Community Drive ground at 7.30pm, will also give a chance for players from the reserve side to impress against their counterparts.

Joint First Team manager Andrew Frost is delighted with both sides reaching the final once again.

"It shows how we have strength in depth for both teams to get there again", he said.

"The first team wont be taking it lightly and it will be a competitive match I am sure.

"Both teams will be going all out for the win and it should be a decent game to watch."

The first team go into the match on the back of a 4-0 victory over Leicester City on Sunday.

It was their first home game since January following numerous League, League Cup and County Cup victories out on the road in recent weeks.

Laura Garside had a hand in all four goals, scoring two and setting up the other two for Chantelle Gallagher.

Goalkeeper Emily Horton also made several fantastic saves to ensure a first clean sheet in four matches.

There is now an eleven point gap over Radcliffe Olympic at the top of the table with four games remaining, although Leafield Athletic do still have two games in hand down in fourth place.
