Wilkinson urges fans to snap up their seats for next season

ANDY WILKINSON has urged Stoke City supporters to secure their seat at the Britannia Stadium for the 2013/14 campaign . . . prior to next Wednesday evening’s early-bird deadline.

The Stone-born defender insists that the modern-day success at the Britannia Stadium wouldn’t have been possible without such incredible backing from the fans, and is banking upon their support again next term.

The Potters have endured something of a disappointing run of results in recent weeks, but the 28-year-old remains convinced that the side can turn things around over the final two months of the campaign, and in the
process reward the fans for their continued ‘remarkable support’.

“They have made the Britannia Stadium a fortress for us, and somewhere really hard for other teams to come to,” he told Stoke City Player.

“If the fans sign up early and we know they’re going to be there again next season then it will give us such a boost, not just for next year, but for the rest of this season too.

“I’ve said it so many times, but they are amazing supporters. If they can stick with us and get behind us on Saturday, and for the rest of the season, then I’m sure that we can finish where we want to be.”

Wilkinson made a landmark 150th league appearance for his hometown Club during last weekend’s Premier League clash with Newcastle United, and without getting too carried away, he says he is already eyeing up
150 more.

“It’s a great achievement for me, and one that I am undoubtedly incredibly proud of,” he smiled.

“I wasn’t aware of it until just before kick-off when I got told, but it was good to hear it, although it was a shame that we couldn’t get the result we wanted too.

“There have been a lot of moments in those games which stand out for me, the first in the Premier League, promotion day – too many to mention. Hopefully I can get another 150 under my belt.”
