First Drive In Cinema event hailed a success
PLANS ARE already being drawn-up for a second Drive In Cinema event at the Britannia Stadium after the first proved enormously successful.
The American-style cinema experience came to the home of the Potters as film fans were offered a unique way of watching four classic films - from the comfort of their own car.
A giant screen was set-up on the North car park at the stadium and cars parked up for a Friday night showing of Home Alone and Top Gun and a Saturday broadcast of Toy Story 1 and The Goonies.
Stoke City Events Manager Della Birchall said: "It was the first time a Drive In Cinema had been staged in Stoke-on-Trent and the idea was certainly embraced by people in the city.
"From the feedback we've received people really enjoyed doing something different... and we're already planning for a similar event in the future."
