Crouch pleased with Potters progression

PETER CROUCH believes the Potters are making strides in the right direction after claiming a thoroughly deserved point against Hull City in front of the live television cameras on Saturday evening.

The result means the side have now suffered just one defeat in seven games, and comes on the back of last weekend’s historic 3-2 triumph over second place Chelsea at the Britannia Stadium.

The England international went close to sealing all three points on two separate occasions during a dominant second 45 minutes only to be thwarted by Hull ‘keeper Alan McGregor on each occasion.

“It was a tight game, but I did think that our quality was going to shine through at the end when we were controlling the game,” he said.

“We pressed, and pushed forward looking to get the winner in the second half but unfortunately it just didn’t fall for us.

“I thought we had won it when Stephen (Ireland) tucked home the rebound from my header, but unfortunately he must have strayed offside.

“It’s fine margins, and sadly that one didn’t go for us. It’s another Premier League point for us though and it keeps us ticking along nicely,”

He added: “We are progressing, we are playing some good stuff and I am convinced that we will be pushing for a spot in the top ten come the end of the season.”
