JAMIE NESS scored his first goal in English football at the weekend as he helped loan club Leyton Orient to a 4-0 victory.
The Scottish midfielder cracked a 25-yard strike in off the post for the O's second goal of the afternoon in their thrashing of Carlisle United on Saturday.
Ness was making his home debut for Russell Slade's high-fliers, with the victory keeping them in second place in League One, just a point behind leaders and London rivals Brentford.
Brek Shea was also in the Capital, but didn't go on to make an appearance, with Barnsley's game at Charlton Athletic being called off due to a waterlogged pitch.
Elsewhere in the Championship, Michael Kightly saw Burnley maintain second place with a hard-fought 2-1 win at Yeovil Town.
Kightly was an unused substitute for the game, but has featured on 20 occasions so far for Sean Dyche's team on his season-long loan at Turf Moor.
Cameron Jerome, meanwhile, played 69 minutes of Crystal Palace's 2-0 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
He'll be ineligible to play when the Potters face the Eagles at Selhurst Park this weekend.
