Midfielder delighted with final day victory against the Baggies...

STEVEN NZONZI has pledged his long-term future to the Club after helping his side secure a record breaking ninth place finish in the Barclays Premier League on Sunday.

The midfielder produced another impressive showing in the heart of midfield as a Gareth McAuley own goal and a stunning late strike from substitute Charlie Adam registered maximum points for the Potters at the Hawthorns.

The victory was enough for the side to reach the 50-point mark, and in the process cement a top half finish for the first time since winning promotion from the Championship six years ago.

Speaking to following the match, the French born star said: “It’s a fantastic result for us and ends the season in the manner that we were hoping for.

“All along we have had the 50-point marker in our sights, so to come out here and win the game to hit that milestone is an incredible achievement for the Club.

“We can all go home incredibly happy now and I am sure that we can all relax and enjoy the summer on the back of this season.

“You can see the improvement in the team – we are playing a lot more football now and at times, as we showed today, we are very, very difficult to play against and try to stop.”

He added: “I’m really happy at Stoke and I want to be here for a long time. We are progressing as a team, and we can achieve even more than we have this season.”
