BREK SHEA is just one game away from landing a Gold Cup winners’ medal after the United States clinched a place in Sunday’s final.
The Stoke City winger joined the action as a second-half substitute as the US beat Honduras 3-1 in their semi-final in Arlington, Texas.
It’s the fifth successive time the US have clinched a place in the final, which will see them face at Panama at Soldier Field in Chicago.
America were 3-1 ahead and in complete control by the time Shea stepped off the bench in the 67th minute to replace Jose Torres.
There was late drama, however, as the US head coach Jurgen Klinsmann was shown a red card three minutes from time after forcibly protesting following a heavy challenge by a Honduran player on his skipper DaMarcus Beasley.
