TONY PULIS handed Danish international Thomas Sorensen a place in the starting line-up for Stoke City's meeting with Orlando City at the Citrus Bowl.
Sorensen, who will be vying to be first choice with Asmir Begovic came into a side that showed one other change from the Columbus Crew game.
Republic of Ireland international Glenn Whelan was preferred to Dean Whitehead in the centre of midfield and line up alongside Wilson Palacios.
The line-up indicated that Ryan Shotton would start at right back and Marc Wilson move across to the left side, allowing Jamie Ness to move into midfield.
There were a number of notable absentees from the bench with Rory Delap and Andy Wilkinson nursing injuries, while Mamady Sidibe was not risked on the artificial pitch.
Orlando, who were crowned USL PRO Regular Championship winners on Friday evening with a 4-0 victory over Charleston Battery, fielded many of the players who had featured in that triumph which secured a second successive title.
They included former Potters favourite James O’Connor, but manager’s son Anthony Pulis was ruled out of the match with a hamstring injury.
