Crouch determined to start putting points on the board

PETER CROUCH insists the time has come for Stoke City to turn good performances into results, instead of ‘talking the talk’.

The in-form striker will be looking for his third goal in as many games when the Potters face Southampton at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday.

Mark Hughes’ men are without a win in six Premier League outings and are currently fourth from bottom in the table but Crouch has drawn great encouragement from several of the team’s display, especially the way they acquitted themselves against Manchester United last weekend.

They twice took the lead at Old Trafford but were eventually beaten 3-2 and Crouch is now targeting a return to winning ways.

“Obviously we know that we need to turn very good performances into good results,” he declared in an exclusive interview with #pottersmag for Saturday’s game against his one of his former clubs.

“We have played some really good stuff this season, and in certain games have created more than enough chances to have won those matches.

“It’s all well and good saying this though, we just have to get on the pitch and do it.

You can only talk the talk for so long, because sooner or later you do have to get the results that you need to firstly keep you in the division, and then get you challenging for a spot in the top ten, which is where we all want to be.”

Elsewhere in Saturday’s pottersmag, Andy Wilkinson answers your questions in ‘Socially Speaking’, manager Hughes and skipper Ryan Shawcross offer their opinions in their regular columns, while goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen reveals his artistic side.

All of this is available for just £3.50 from the usual outlets, so make sure you pick up your copy before the big game.
