Honduran in squad for Globe Arena clash

WILSON PALACIOS is one of five Stoke City senior players who are set to feature in tonight’s Central League Cup match against Morecambe (7pm).

The midfielder will join up with the Elite Development Squad at the Globe Arena, with Carlo Nash, Danny Higginbotham, Diego Arismendi and Michael Tonge also making the journey.

Palacios has been used as a late substitute in both of the Potters’ Premier League games so far, but wasn’t included in the squad for yesterday’s Capital One Cup defeat against Swindon Town.

Nash was on the bench for the visit of the Robins, but this evening’s clash represents a good chance for all five to get valuable minutes under their belts.

The EDS were most recently in action last Wednesday, when they were well beaten 3-0 by Aston Villa in their Under-21s Premier League Group 2 match.

This is the first game of the Central League Cup, with City also set to face Tranmere Rovers, Rotherham United and Fleetwood Town in their group. Fixture details for these games will be announced on stokecityfc.com in due course.

Tickets are available on the gate, priced at £4 for adults and £2 for concessions.
