Odemwingie thanks support since joining the Club...

POTTERS striker Peter Odemwingie has revealed his delight after the Potters surpassed their previous Premier League points record following a final day win over former club West Bromwich Albion last Sunday.

The triumph at the Hawthorns meant City finished their top-flight campaign with a total of 50 points, three more than their previous best, as well as a first-ever top-ten finish since returning to play in the country’s elite in 2008.

The Nigerian international told Stoke City Player following the weekend’s result that he can’t wait for next season and thanked the supporters for their backing since his arrival in January.

“It was all about achieving our target of 50 points for the first time and I am really happy to be part of the group here at Stoke City,” he beamed.

“I've had such a fantastic few months and I wish the season could continue because there is a lot to look forward to.

“As the manager said last week from the first game next season we want to go for it and try and break all the records, and become a better team again.

“I think we are one of the most improved teams over the last few months but unfortunately we have to go away now after achieving a lot this season, but there is more to look forward to.

He added: “They [the supporters] have really helped me I want to give them a lot of credit for how I’ve played since day one - I feel a great part of this group especially after the success we have enjoyed.
