STOKE CITY are looking to raise more valuable funds for the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal in an internet auction of the limited-edition poppy match-worn shirts from last Sunday’s game against Swansea.

City's players adorned the 'poppy shirts' in the 3-3 draw with the Jacks on Remembrance Sunday and now supporters are being given the chance to bid for these unique items.

The shirts of all the players that featured in the game in South Wales are up for auction, including those of goalscorers Jonathan Walters, Stephen Ireland and Charlie Adam.

Ironically it was Adam’s shirt that raised the most money in last year's auction following his match winning strike against Queens Park Rangers, and his jersey is again likely to be in demand this time around having netted a stoppage time penalty to secure a point for his side at the Liberty Stadium.

It will be fifth time that the Club have run an auction for the shirts, with all funds raised going to The Royal British Legion, together with the collection money that was raised prior to the home game with Southampton earlier this month.

The Royal British Legion is the UK’s leading Service charity, providing practical care, advice and support to serving members of the Armed Forces, veterans of all ages and their families.

Stoke City's Head of Community Adrian Hurst said: "The Royal British Legion poppy appeal is a campaign that is familiar to us all and we at Stoke City are delighted to be able to support such a worthwhile cause."

Any supporter wishing to bid for a shirt need to send their entry to poppyshirts@stokecityfc.com by no later than 5pm on Friday 22nd November 2013.

Included in the email must be your name, contact number and of course, the name of the player whose shirt you are bidding for.

A daily round-up of the leading bids will be available on stokecityfc.com from Monday onwards, whilst regular updates will also appear on both twitter and facebook prior to the deadline.

Please note, all winning bidders will be contacted once the deadline has passed.
