TONY PULIS has urged Stoke City supporters to help the Club maintain their proud record in the FA Cup in recent seasons when they face Manchester City at the weekend.
Pulis is hoping that City will be roared on a big crowd in the fourth round tie at the Britannia Stadium as they endeavour to make further progress in a competition in which they have reached the quarter finals in each of the last three seasons and a first-ever Final in 2011.
The meeting with Roberto Mancini’s side is, of course, a repeat of that Final two years ago at Wembley Stadium which was settled by a goal from Yaya Toure.
Prior to that, the Potters overcame the Manchester giants in a thrilling fifth round replay which took place at the Britannia Stadium almost three years ago.
“I’m still very much in love with the FA Cup and I know our supporters are too after what has happened over the past three seasons,” commented Pulis.
“We are proud of our record in the competition which has seen us lose only three times in 18 cup ties over the past four seasons – to Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool – which shows how seriously we have taken it,. So, we want that to continue.
“It’s absolutely fabulous that we have the champions of England coming here for what should a cracking tie on Saturday, but we will need the Britannia to be rocking.”
“The fans recognise that we need their backing more than ever on big occasions like this, and we will certainly need them right behind us for such a tough game.”
While Manchester City have already sold out of their 4,500 allocation, tickets are currently available to Season Ticket holders for the fourth round tie.
Supporters are being encouraged to book online or use the Ticket Office hotline to secure their tickets with the weather causing so much travel disruption.
Season Ticket holders have until 5.30pm this evening to claim their regular Premier League seats, apart from the Marston’s Pedigree South Stand, who will be able to buy unreserved seats anywhere in the stadium.
There is also an extended opportunity to secure their seats online at scfcdirect.com up until 8.30am on Tuesday morning.
Tickets are also now available to Silver Members and Potters Foundation Members who are non Season Ticket holders.
They will then go on general sale at 9.00am on Tuesday morning.
Tickets cost £20.00 for adults, £10.00 for over-65s and £5.00 for under-17s, while disabled tickets are £10.00 including free entry for a carer.
*Tickets can be booked online at scfcdirect.com or by contacting the Ticket Office hotline on 01782 367599.
Alternatively, they can be purchased in person at the Britannia Stadium Ticket Office or the Club Stores located in the Potteries Shopping Centre in Hanley and the Roebuck Centre in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
