City boss to make changes for Palace clash

TONY PULIS has confirmed that he will make changes to his starting eleven for Tuesday night's FA Cup 3rd Round replay against Crystal Palace at the Britannia Stadium.

The news means that the likes of Thomas Sorensen, Dean Whitehead and Peter Crouch could all return to the side having been forced to settle for a spot on the bench against Chelsea at the weekend.

Former England international Michael Owen could also be primed for his first Britannia Stadium start, having been restricted to just a handful of appearances for the Club following his summer arrival.

"There will definitely be a few changes to the team for the game on Tuesday," Pulis told Stoke City Player following Saturday's defeat against the Champions League holders.

"One or two of the lads who weren't involved in the game against Chelsea will come in to the side.

"It's important for them to get some playing time, but we will also show respect to Crystal Palace by naming a strong side. We want to progress in the competition."

The only certain absentees for the encounter with the Championship high-flyers are Republic of Ireland pair Marc Wilson and Rory Delap.

Delap is missing due to a calf problem, whilst Wilson is continuing his rehabilitation back from a broken leg. Pulis has confirmed however, that he is hoping to Wilson back in training next week.

Meanwhile, Ian Holloway is definitely without midfielder Kagisho Dikgacoi (African Cup of Nations) and former Ipswich Town star Owen Garvan (knee injury).

Paddy McCarthy and Joel Ward are also both absent with groin injuries, however, star striker Wilfried Zaha is expected to start, despite speculation surrounding his future.

Loan signing Alex Nimely is ineligible, having signed for the Club from Manchester City following the initial clash at Selhurst Park earlier in the month.

*Tickets are on sale for the replay, priced at £20.00 for adults, £10.00 for over-65s and £5.00 for under-17s.

These can be booked online at or by contacting the Ticket Office Hotline on 01782 367599.
