Pulis can choose from fully-fit squad for Swansea

TONY PULIS has reported a clean bill of health ahead of Saturday’s Barclays Premier League encounter against Swansea City at the Britannia Stadium.

Speaking at Thursday morning’s pre-match press conference, City’s manager announced that he would have a fully-fit squad at his disposal as his side searches for a first victory of the 2012-13 campaign.

The only absentee will be defender Andy Wilkinson, who serves the second game of his retrospective three-match ban for violent conduct in City’s last home match against champions Manchester City.

Pulis also revealed that Charlie Adam is in-line to resume his duties in the starting eleven, despite having to be withdrawn from the clash at Stamford Bridge last weekend with a bout of illness.

He said: “Charlie wasn’t feeling too well last weekend and he came over to me at half-time and said he didn’t feel quite right.

“We took him off after a while as a precaution really, but he has had a good week of training, so he will be fine for Saturday.”

Meanwhile, summer signing Michael Owen may again have to settle for a spot amongst the substitutes again, with Pulis refusing to rush him into the firing line too quickly.

“Michael has been fantastic since he walked through the door here, and he looked fit and sharp when he came on at Chelsea.

“It’s a long, tough season though, and there is no way we will be rushing him into things quickly which could put him at risk of picking up an injury.”

He added: “We will bide our time with him and ease him into things, as we have done, but when he is in the team, we are confident that he can score goals for us.”
