STOKE CITY’s Matchday Magazine for this weekend’s visit of West Ham United is packed with must-read features… including an exclusive interview with Potters new boy Brek Shea.
The award-winning publication will be available all around the Britannia Stadium prior to Saturday’s match against the Hammers, with the 100-page, perfect bound programme on sale for just £3.50.
The extended interview with American international Shea covers everything from his reaction to making his City debut against Fulham last weekend, his love of producing abstract act as a hobby and his hopes of firmly establishing himself in manager Tony Pulis’ plans for the rest of the season.
Entitled ‘A Master of the Fine Arts’, the piece explores how Shea’s attitude to his hobby and profession are remarkably similar.
“If you look at my paintings then you will see that a lot of them are very bold and bright, and quite unpredictable,” said the 22-year-old.
“I play my football in pretty much the same way too so there is a comparison there. I don’t even know what I’m going to do on the pitch you know, I just go out there and it happens.”
Elsewhere in the publication, Scotland international Charlie Adam answers your questions in ‘Socially Speaking’, including whether he prefers haggis to oatcakes and which footballers he idolised growing up.
Pulis, Ryan Shawcross and Tony Scholes offer musings in their regular columns, while there is an opportunity to find out more about England star Jack Butland as he’s put under the spotlight in our ‘Getting to Know’ feature.
Flip the programme over and you’ll find our popular historical section, this weekend focussing on City’s memorable FA Cup quarter-final triumph over West Ham United.
We also look in-depth at our opponents, with particular focus on returning Hammer Joe Cole and on-loan forward Andy Carroll, plus a profile of boss Sam Allardyce.
We have all of the other usual features too, including the thoughts of Mickey Thomas’ and Nigel Johnson, whilst the younger generation of supporters can test their knowledge in the Junior Potters pages, whilst also having the opportunity of winning a mascot package for the Norwich City game in April.
All of this is available for just £3.50, so make sure you pick up your copy before the big game!
