Italian chef Gino D'Acampo lined up for 2012 Stoke Kitchen later this year

STOKE CITY will be dishing up another treat for diners later this year when celebrity chef Gino D'Acampo visits the Britannia Stadium.

The 36-year-old from Napoli, who shot to stardom when he won the 2009 'I'm A Celebrity . . . Get Me Out Of Here', has been lined up for the 2012 Stoke Kitchen following the success of two similar events featuring Marco Pierre White.

D'Acampo will put the culinary skills of three first team players to the test in the heat of a special show kitchen in the Waddington Suite when the hugely-popular Stoke Kitchen, sponsored by Wrights Pies, is held for a third time on Tuesday 9th October.

Rory Delap (2010) and Matthew Upson (2011) were crowned the Master Chefs on the previous two occasions and City will announce at a later date those players who will be challenging for that accolade in this particular instance.

"This has proved to be a fantastic night of entertainment and fine dining for those who have attended the first two events, but Gino will no doubt spice things up in more ways than one," said City's Head of Commercial Andrew Billingham.

"As well as being a top Italian chef, he is certainly one of the more colourful characters among the celebrity chefs on television these days.

"The way in which the players have thrown themselves wholeheartedly into this challenge has undoubtedly contributed to the success of the Stoke Kitchens so far.

"Therefore, we are anticipating that this year's event will be as popular, if not more so, than it has been over the past two years."

Since his success in winning 'I'm A Celebrity', D'Acampo has featured regularly on ITV's This Morning programme and once kept a pledge to cook completely naked after the show won recognition at the National Television Awards.

He recently hosted 'There's No Taste Like Home' for ITV, and his popular lunchtime show - 'Let's Do Lunch . . . with Gino and Mel', co-starring Melanie Sykes, returns for an extended run during the summer.

Tickets for the 2012 Stoke Kitchen are priced at £1,500 plus VAT for a table of 10 people which includes a three course meal and three bottles of wine on each table, as well as photographic opportunities on the night.
