Potters draw the Champions in Capital One Cup

STOKE CITY have been drawn at home to Manchester United in the Quarter Finals of the Capital One Cup.

Mark Hughes' side will face the Red Devils at the Britannia Stadium in the week commencing Monday 16th December.

The tie against the Champions will be the Potters' reward for beating Birmingham City 4-2 on penalties last night following a pulsating 4-4 draw at St. Andrews.

United, meanwhile, dispatched Norwich City 4-0 at Old Trafford to progress to the same stage.

The clash will bring back memories of Stoke's 2-1 victory over them in the competition in 1993, where Mark Stein bagged a brace against a visiting team that included Hughes in their line-up.

A confirmed date for the fixture, along with ticket prices and sale dates, will be announced here on in due course.
