Palacios recalled to the starting XI

MARK HUGHES made one change to his starting line-up for Sunday's clash against Swansea as the Potters looked to elevate themselves out of the bottom three.

Honduran international Wilson Palacios was recalled to the side at the expense of Glenn Whelan, who dropped down to the bench.

The rest of the eleven was unchanged from the team that held in-form Southampton to a 1-1 draw at the Britannia Stadium eight days earlier.

That meant that Robert Huth, Erik Pieters and Jonathan Walters all passed late fitness tests after initially being rated as doubtful to feature because of injury.

Walters' inclusion in the team meant that he reached a landmark 100 consecutive Premier League starts - a record that isn't bettered by any current outfield player in the top-flight.

Stoke City: Begovic; Cameron, Shawcross (c), Huth, Pieters; Walters, Nzonzi, Ireland, Palacios, Arnautovic; Crouch. Subs: Sorensen, Wilson, Whelan, Adam, Assaidi, Etherington, Jones.

Swansea: Tremmel; Rangel, Flores, Williams (c), Davies; De Guzman, Pozuelo, Britton, Lamah, Routledge; Bony. Subs: Zabret, Amat, Taylor, Canas, Shelvey, Dyer, Vazquez.
