STOKE CITY can confirm that Michael Tonge has today completed a permanent move to Championship club Leeds United for an undisclosed fee.
The 29-year-old midfielder has spent the first half of the 2012-13 season on loan at Elland Road and been a key figure in their rise into play-off contention.
Tonge has been reunited with former manager Neil Warnock at Leeds, after his career blossomed under him when they were both at Sheffield United.
He moved to the Britannia Stadium from the Blades shortly after City’s promotion to the Premier League in 2008, having made 262 appearances at Bramall Lane.
Limited first team opportunities with the Potters led to him spending loan spells at Preston North End, Derby County, and Barnsley as well as Sheffield United.
Tonge played twelve times in the Premier League for the Potters, while he also featured in the Europa League side at the beginning of last season.
The Club would like to place on record our thanks to Michael for his services to the Club and wish him well for the future at Elland Road.
