Edu and Ness among four first teamers to face United

STOKE CITY have included two of their summer signings in the Under-21 side which takes on Manchester United this evening.

Former Glasgow Rangers pair Maurice Edu and Jamie Ness have both been named in the Potters line-up along with fellow midfielder Wilson Palacios and defender Ryan Shotton for the game at Altrincham’s Moss Lane ground.

Manager Tony Pulis will be looking for all four players to gain valuable game time ahead of Saturday’s visit of Queens Park Rangers.

While Palacios was an unused substitute for the game at Norwich on Saturday, Ness, Edu and Shotton did not feature in that squad.

United, who beat City 1-0 in the opening fixture of the season at Nantwich’s Weaver Stadium, will be aiming to draw level on points with Tottenham Hotspur at the top of the Under-21 Premier League table with a victory this evening.

The Potters’ Development side have experienced a difficult time in the League programme and are currently at the foot of the table.

The game at Moss Lane kicks off at 7.00pm this evening.

City: Eve; Shotton, Heneghan, Keane, Glasgow; Edu, Palacios, Ness, Musungu; Alabi, Rossi. Subs: Dawson, Richardson, Scott, Parry, Clarkson.
